  Mercy, me!
  
  I came because friends told me that Friday night karioke is a thing here at Bosco's...Man, they were not lying!
  
  Bosco's attracts all kinds of folks...it's so eclectic! Don't come with highbrow expectations...you'll only leave disappointed! I was asked by someone to bring back to the table a "San Peligrino." The bartender laughed at me and said: "You see what kind of bar this is? Think low class!" I laughed!
  
  But one can find a beverage here and the people watching is first rate. I can't say a darn thing about the food as I did not try it. But I did sing: twice! During the second song I had some groom joining me at the mic, dancing to the sound of Queen. It was strange but fun.
  
  And really, that's the bottom line here: Come to just have a good time, leave pretension at the door, and enjoy the evening with strange company. Not too much to ask!

  Whoa, this place is a trip.  But it is so fitting that they are here, in the renegade town of Sunol.  I've only really been in the bar area, which is large actually, but I've never been in when a bands been in, so half of it is always in the dark.
  
  Not going to get too into the quirkiness of this place, just scan some of the other reviews, especially Dan B.'s review, he friggin' nails it.
  
  The Clam Chowder (4.5*) is pretty good.  Surprisingly so.  Very creamy, decent chunks and a good clam flavor.  I always try to integrate a cup of this with any meal I get here.
  
  Prime Rib ($24/3*)  Decent cut and the proper redness that I ordered.  But it just didn't taste that fresh.  Like it may have been a leftover then just reheated to order.  Maybe better as a sandwich.  The sides were decent though.
  
  Crab/Shrimp Sandwich ($11/5*)  This was awesome.  The crab was real mild but even though the shrimps were in small chunks, I could totally tell that they were there.  The mayo made it creamy without being drippy, and it was seasoned nice.  The buttery and crunchy sourdough just held everything together perfectly.  This may be my go to here from here on out.
  
  So when I finish a hike at nearby Pleasanton Ridge, I like to pop in here for some water and a light beer.  Depending on my timing, lunch often may come into play.  It's a great 1-2 combo that's made my rotation this year.  Boscoe's is strange, but I don't think I'd have it any other way.

  Had a delicious dinner here with friends before going over to Sunol Glen School to see the annual presentation from the Sunol Glen Players. There were five of us and we had called ahead for a reservation. We were put into the little semi private room with the window. It was very nice. We had allowed a little extra time for dinner, which turned out to be good. The restaurant was busy and the staff was kept on their toes. But this did result in slower service. We were grateful that we had planned ahead.
  
  A few items on the menu were unavailable, unfortunately they had been my first and second picks. So I opted for something else. Our server was friendly and delightful. The food was good and it was nice that Boscoe's is just a short walk from the school, since we had parked there and were walking back for the play. Although a little out of my area, I would come back here again.

  Finally, after so many years of wanting to try this bar we made the drive over to see what was going on.  Finally!  I was super excited.
  
  Yes, they have a dog that pees beer into your pint glass.  Its weird, I know.  The beer is very good.  I think its their house beer brewed just for them and it was pretty good.
  
  I switched to Greyhounds after that beer.  The evening we came in it was quiet.  We did not eat food.  We only sat at the bar and had a few cocktails.
  
  They have the awesome juke box that hooks up to the AMI app on your phone.  I was definitely the vibe manager this night.  I met a few new faces and the bartender was fantastic and so sweet.
  
  I'd hang out here again if we lived closer.

  After going to Sunol Regional Wilderness for a hike we came here for lunch. It is an old school dive bar/restaurant. Famous for the old Mayors dog "Bosco"that is a huge black dog that has been to the taxidermy and now serves as a beer dispenser! Yes this is true. I love dogs so I was like ok gimme a beer. They lift his hind leg and voila beer comes pouring out. Its a dive bar setting with karaoke and live bands on the weekend. Old school bar with lots of locals. It does get busy at night and service can be slow.  
  We went at noon and had sandwiches. Service was great and we felt at home. Philly steak for me that was a bit on the small side but tasty with fires and my cousin had the chicken club which was also good.
  Lunch with beer for 2 about $35 plus tip. You must stop by and have a beer and see Bosco.
